Message from the Mayor

I feel it is an honor to present my view to the Fallen Four Web page...

The Fallen Four Memorial Park is dedicated to those who give of themselves for the protection of our society and our great country. It is a wonderful green area where one can feel the presence of all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Visitors have an area to stroll around with the figures of the four : Peter Shiemman, Leo Johnston, Anthony Gordon and Brock Myrol watching over them as they did on March 03, 2005. The park is growing in beauty and popularity and will continue to be just a nice place to stroll or sit and reflect.

I hope you enjoy all the hospitality that the people of Mayerthorpe offer and that your visit is such that you will return many times to our community.

I leave you with this quote from King James version: “Greater Love has No Man Than This, That a Man Lay Down His Life For His Friends.”

I trust that you will enjoy the local hospitality and that you will return often to Mayerthorpe and visit the Fallen Four Memorial park to pause for a moment and “Remember”.
